Our standards
How we make what we make.
Plain rules, written down, for every WideSprout brand: how we research, how we use AI, how we fix mistakes and how we handle money.

01 · Editorial
Editorial standards
Everything we publish is researched, written and checked by people, across every brand.
-
Research. Travel guides come from our own trips wherever possible. When a guide is research-based rather than first-hand, it says so at the top.
-
Writing. Plain language and real numbers: prices, distances, timings. No hype words, no invented urgency.
-
Checking. A person checks every piece before it goes live: facts, prices, dates, story sources, Spanish grammar and accents.
-
Dating. Guides carry the date they were written and last updated, so you know how fresh they are.
02 · AI transparency
Honest about AI
We use AI tools in some of our work, and we tell you where.
-
Labelled. AI-assisted content is clearly marked.
-
Research-based guides. Travel guides built from research rather than a visit are marked as research-based.
-
Lucía is fictional. The Español teacher is an illustrated character animated with AI tools, not a real person.
-
Human-checked. Every fact, word, accent and grammar rule is checked by a person.
03 · Corrections
When we get it wrong
Mistakes happen. When they do, we fix them in the open.
-
Tell us. Use the contact form and choose “Report a correction”, or write to the brand directly.
-
We check. Someone reviews every report and replies.
-
We fix and note it. Factual fixes get a short note at the end of the piece saying what changed and when.

04 · Advertising & affiliates
Money never moves a recommendation
Ads and partnerships help keep our brands free to start. They never change what we recommend.
-
Ads are labelled. Display ads are marked as ads.
-
Sponsored is labelled. Sponsored content says so, clearly, at the top.
-
Affiliate links are marked. We may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
-
Independent. Partners never review or approve what we write.
